If you are getting the error “AIF is in undefined state, that is not safe to be upgraded…” during the SUM upgrade process runs, then you should follow this post steps and reset the SUM to eliminate the situation…

Solution ;

Stop the SUM process and exit

Go to the location : …\SUM\abap\bin

Execute the following command ;

“SAPup Reset Prepare”

Enter the selection “01″ and reset the process

Now you can start from beginning and you won’t get that error again..
