If your “SAP Installed” drive is nearly full or free space getting lower and you cannot restart the SAP system then you can use the following workaround solutions without system restart operation…
1 – Reset the TRACE files
Let’s check the files size under \SAPEXECDrive\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS00\work
Just these 2 files has nearly 30 GB trace info
Then we can reset the all trace files like below ;
Administration –> Trace –> Reset –> All Files
Now check these files again
2 - Delete .OLD files under WORK directory
Go to under “work” directory select the “OLD Files” and DELETE
3 - Delete Background Job Logs
Go to transaction SE38 and execute the program “RSBTCDEL”
F8 – EXECUTE
Insert “Start Date” and “Finish Date” for the data , Select “Delete with forced mode”
F8 – EXECUTE
I tried creating space by executing the program ‘RSBTCDE’ using SE38 TCode. Upon execution I gave the start date as ’01.01.2013′ and end date as ’31.05.2015′ by checking ‘Delete with force mode’. But system was running for more than 3 hours and could not produce any output list / message. Finally I forcibly closed the execution window (SE38) and found no empty space created on my SAP Drive.
Please anybody help me further.
I guess you mean program RSBTCDEL..Could you please try with “work as background” and check the background job log and related btc work process trace file to find a clue..
Yes it is ‘RSBTCDEL’. Thanks for a quick reply, I give a try and get back to you.
