If your are getting a message like “Change Request Must be Assigned to a Project” while trying to get a change request on a SAP system, then you can check the below settings to be sure that related client is configured as “must be assigned to a project” or not.

You can see the related message screen in the following example ;

to make the project assigment for the “related client” mandatory or not, (in our example this client number is “060″) check the situation.

to do this ;

SE03 –> Display/Change Request Attributes

Double click the SAP_CTS_PROJECT attribute

Modify SAP_CTS_PROJECT attribute using client specific checkbox 

If you don’t want this “project assignment” option as mandatory, then remove the “required” check from the client area
